Formula Student Austria 2026: Strong Performances at the Red Bull Ring

Spielberg, July 2026 – At the end of July, student teams from across Europe gathered at the Red Bull Ring for Formula Student Austria 2026, competing with their self-developed race cars in a variety of engineering and performance disciplines.
Formula Student is one of the world's most prestigious competitions for aspiring engineers. Combining theory with real-world application, the event challenges teams not only on the racetrack but also in areas such as engineering design, cost efficiency and overall vehicle concept.
As a long-standing partner, Zoerkler Gears supports both TU Wien Racing and Joanneum Racing Graz with drivetrain components and technical expertise. This close collaboration enables students to gain valuable hands-on experience while testing their developments under competitive conditions.
For Zoerkler, this commitment is an investment in the next generation of engineering talent. Formula Student demonstrates how innovative ideas are transformed into functional solutions and highlights the importance of teamwork, precision and technical excellence in shaping the mobility technologies of tomorrow.
The competition was particularly successful for Joanneum Racing Graz, which achieved an outstanding 2nd place overall, earning the title of the best Austrian team at its home event.
The TU Wien Racing Team also competed against the strong international field of 37 university teams and secured a respectable 18th place overall.
The achievements of both teams once again underline the high standard of engineering education and the innovative spirit of Austria's next generation of engineers.
Zoerkler Gears congratulates both teams on their accomplishments and thanks them for the excellent cooperation. We wish them continued success, strong performances and safe competitions throughout the remainder of the season.
